How Death Stranding 2 runs on PS5

• Prioritize Quality: native 4K output with checkerboard rendering, locked at 30 FPS.
• Prioritize Performance: locked 60 FPS, with the base resolution lowered to 1440p and upscaled to 4K. It trims texture quality and draw distance a little; the most visible change is grass pop-in.

The gap between the modes is smaller than in many games, which is why many players choose Performance on a TV.

What PlayRoam changes

• Quality mode at 60 FPS motion. Stream at 30 fps; frame generation doubles it. Sam's long treks, with the camera sweeping over valleys and rivers, are the ideal case for generated frames.
• No pop-in trade-off. You keep Quality mode's draw distance and textures while getting smooth motion.
• Or Performance at 120. With a 120 Hz or faster monitor, stream Performance mode at 60 fps for 120 FPS motion.

• Deliveries and exploration: Prioritize Quality, stream 1080p at 30 fps, frame generation 2×.
• Combat-heavy missions: either mode works; Performance streamed at 60 fps is the more responsive one.
• Connection: Local network, PS5 on Ethernet; on the road, see playing your PS5 over the internet.
