What do I need to use PlayRoam?
A Windows 10 or 11 PC, a PS5 with Remote Play turned on (or any console connected through a capture card) and a PlayRoam subscription.
Does PlayRoam make the PS5 itself run at 60 FPS?
No. The console renders the game exactly as before. PlayRoam generates extra frames on your PC, so the picture you see moves at 60 FPS.
Does frame generation add input lag?
A little. To create a frame between two real ones, PlayRoam has to wait for the next real frame. Most players don't notice it in story and action games; for competitive shooters you can turn it off.
Can I play when I'm away from home?
Yes. Over the internet mode connects to your PS5 through PSN. Picture quality depends on the upload speed of your home connection.
Do I need a powerful graphics card?
Upscaling and frame generation run on your PC's GPU, so a recent dedicated graphics card gives the best results. The download page lists the requirements.
How much does it cost?
$10 per month, and you can cancel anytime from your account. Payments are processed by Paddle, which also handles sales tax where it applies.
