Stellar Blade runs at a steady 60 FPS on PS5 in Prioritize Performance. Balanced also targets 60 but has drops, while Prioritize Resolution runs at 30. Start with Performance for PlayRoam: a 60 FPS stream preserves the faster console response, and Pro frame generation can show 60 → 120 FPS motion on a 120 Hz or faster screen. It does not give you faster parries.

Three PS5 modes, one combat-first choice

The PS5 figures come from Kotaku's settings guide, with Pro measurements from Digital Foundry's analysis and the PS5 Pro Games database. Sources sometimes call Prioritize Resolution "Quality" and Prioritize Performance simply "Performance".

Kotaku reports a 1440p Performance picture at an almost unwavering 60 FPS. The image is soft, but the regular frame delivery is the reason to choose it for a stream. Balanced offers a sharper-looking picture and targets 60 FPS, with reported resolution around 1080p-1440p and occasional frame drops. Resolution uses native 4K at 30 FPS.

You cannot receive native 4K through Remote Play. PlayRoam's H.264 stream tops out at 1080p60. That makes the trade less attractive here: Resolution sacrifices console responsiveness for detail that your stream cannot carry at its original resolution.

PS5 Pro adds Pro and Pro Max

The Pro update keeps the three original modes and adds two more. Balanced now holds 60 FPS in Digital Foundry's tests. Pro uses PSSR, with roughly 1800p input reconstructed to 4K, and also holds 60 FPS under normal output. It is the mode worth streaming if you own a Pro.

Pro Max retains native 4K with TAA, but Digital Foundry measured about 50-60 FPS. It suits a VRR display connected to the console better than a fixed-rate stream. A higher native pixel count is not enough reason to accept uneven delivery here.

The HFR toggle enables 120 Hz output. Pro then reaches up to 80 FPS, with drops into the 70s in the cited tests. That is not 120 FPS gameplay. For PlayRoam, leave HFR off and use normal Pro at 60 FPS. The stream cannot send those extra console frames, and a steady source is easier to interpolate. A cleaner Pro image can still look cleaner in the 1080p stream; that is a possibility, not a measured streaming result.

Decide with a parry, not a camera pan

EVE's combat asks you to read an attack and commit to a block or dodge. PlayStation's combat guide describes Perfect Dodge, Blink and Repulse, so console response deserves more weight than the sharpness of a still image.

Try generation while exploring Xion, then compare it with generation off during a fight you know. At a 60 FPS stream setting, it adds about 8 ms plus processing. The app's Added delay reports the measured amount. Your inputs and the game's physics still run at the console's real rate.

If you are missing a timing window, keep the 60 FPS console mode and turn generation off. Switching to Resolution with generated 30 → 60 motion does not restore the 60 FPS game's response. For the difference between real and displayed frames, see PS5 frame generation.

Windows settings for Stellar Blade

On base PS5, select Prioritize Performance; on Pro, select Pro with HFR off. Choose Source → Local network in PlayRoam, then Resolution 1080p and Frame rate 60 FPS.

If your monitor is 120 Hz or faster, Pro's FPS boost → 2× FSR gives you the option of 60 → 120 motion. Any DirectX 11 graphics card can use it. On a 1440p or 4K monitor, Upscaling → FSR 1 sharpens the stream, but cannot add detail it never received. Check the output card for the selected conversion.

Home streaming is free with a PlayRoam account. Source → Over the internet needs Pro and works with PS5 only.

On your phone

A 120 Hz phone can try 60 → 120 from the Performance stream. If the phone cannot keep up, the app tells you. Pro and a Vulkan 1.3 graphics chip support the more reliable 30 → 60 route, but judge its added delay before using it for parry practice.

Read Android frame generation for the hardware limits. Use a gamepad Android recognises, or edit the touch controls. Fit keeps the complete picture visible when Fill would crop the edges.

Questions and answers

Is Stellar Blade 60 FPS on PS5?

Yes. Prioritize Performance delivers a steady 60 FPS in the cited analysis. Balanced targets 60 FPS but can drop below it. Prioritize Resolution runs at 30 FPS.

Which Stellar Blade mode is best on PS5 Pro?

Digital Foundry recommends Pro over Pro Max. Pro uses PSSR and holds 60 FPS with normal output, or reaches up to 80 FPS with HFR on a 120 Hz display. Pro Max renders native 4K but runs around 50-60 FPS.

Does Stellar Blade have a 120 FPS console mode?

No locked 120 FPS mode is documented in the cited analysis. The PS5 Pro HFR option uses 120 Hz output, while Pro mode is capped at 80 FPS and can fall into the 70s.

Does PlayRoam frame generation make parries faster?

No. It changes displayed motion, while your inputs stay at the console's game frame rate. With a 60 FPS stream it adds about 8 ms plus processing, so compare it with generation off for difficult fights.
