Network check

Will PS5 internet play work on this network?

Check the network you are on before buying Pro. This free browser test estimates whether it can connect directly to your PS5 and carry a video stream. It is not a guarantee.

Check your current network

The check downloads about 24 MB in three runs and contacts Google and Cloudflare STUN servers. Use the network you want to play on. Mobile data charges may apply.

What the results mean

Likely works

The connection check found no changing IPv4 mappings, and the measured download speed is at least 15 Mb/s. PS5 internet play is likely to work here if your home network also allows it.

Likely blocked

Strict NAT or no usable IPv4 can block the direct connection to your PS5. Strict carrier NAT cannot be fixed by changing PlayRoam or your router settings. Ask your provider for a public IPv4 address or play on another network.

Too slow

The measured download speed is below the roughly 15 Mb/s needed for 720p at 60 FPS. Pause other downloads, move closer to Wi-Fi, use Ethernet or try another network. A lower frame rate may help.

720p at 60 FPS needs about 15 Mb/s. 1080p at 60 FPS needs about 30 Mb/s. Your device needs that download speed, and your console's home connection needs that upload speed. This check reports the median download speed of three runs.

Check at home too

Run this check where you want to play, then run it on your home network. Both networks must allow a direct IPv4 connection. Check your home upload speed separately with your provider's speed test, and connect your PS5 with Ethernet if possible.

This test does not contact your console, test your home upload speed or guarantee PSN access. Browsers may combine identical STUN results or hide socket details, and a test server can be unreachable. A VPN, firewall, Wi-Fi changes or other traffic can affect the result. PS5 internet play needs Pro. PS4 internet play is not supported.

The STUN providers see your public IP address during the connection check. This page does not send the returned IP addresses or ports to PlayRoam or save them.
