Play GTA 6 on Android by streaming your PS5 copy

GTA 6 has no Android version. Its announced release is November 19, 2026, on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. When it releases, you can stream your own PS5 copy to Android with PlayRoam. The phone receives video and sends controller input; the PS5 runs the game.

Don't install a GTA 6 APK

An APK claiming to be a native Android version of GTA 6 is fake. Don't install it, enter your PSN password into it or complete a supposed verification survey to unlock it. A real Remote Play app streams an existing console; it cannot supply a mobile port or access to an unreleased game.

PlayRoam doesn't include GTA 6 or a cloud PS5. You need your own PS5 and game copy after release. Get PlayRoam for Android only through Google Play, as linked from the Android page, never from an unofficial APK download.

Set up Remote Play before release

You can test your connection now with a game you already own:

1. Enable Settings → System → Remote Play → Enable Remote Play on the PS5. Wire the console to your router if possible.
2. Sign in to a free PlayRoam account on your Android device, then to PSN with the console's account. PS Plus isn't required.
3. For the first local connection, keep both devices on the home network. Press Link in PlayRoam and enter the code from Settings → System → Remote Play → Pair Device.
4. Enable Stay Connected to the Internet and Enable Turning On PS5 from Network under Settings → System → Power Saving → Features Available in Rest Mode if you want Start to wake it.

Recommended GTA 6 settings on a phone

Rockstar's previews describe 30 FPS on PS5 "for now"; no performance mode is confirmed. The GTA 6 console page separates that report from unconfirmed PS5 Pro details.

When the game is available, start with:

• 1080p, 30 FPS stream. A 60 FPS stream of a 30 FPS game would repeat each frame.
• Fill for a picture covering a wide phone. It crops the top and bottom without stretching, so use Fit if a HUD element disappears. See full screen on Android.
• A physical controller, such as an Android-recognised Xbox pad, DualSense, Backbone, Kishi or GameSir. Driving and aiming benefit from real sticks. Android has no gyro, touchpad surface or adaptive triggers.
• With Pro and a Vulkan 1.3 GPU, turn on frame generation for 30 → 60 FPS motion. Pair it with FSR 1 to scale and sharpen the picture, especially on a QHD screen.

Android frame generation explains the GPU cost. It adds about half a console frame, roughly 17 ms at 30 FPS, plus GPU processing. It does not turn the game's input or simulation into native 60 FPS. Compare it off during fast shooting.

Play away from the PS5

Free covers the home-network stream. Pro adds PS5 play over the internet, through PSN over IPv4, without port forwarding. Sign in with the console's PSN account. Some strict carrier NAT, hotel or office networks block the direct connection, and PlayRoam has no relay.

A 1080p30 stream requests 20 Mb/s, up to 9 GB per hour of video before audio and network overhead; the console can send less. Read Remote Play data usage before using a mobile allowance, and the internet guide before travelling.
